Because that's where Mexico City is, and it is the most populous city in the world.... That's like asking why so many people live in New York City... The answer is: Because that's where alot of jobs and opportunities are.

I don't know. I think the coasts can get hit by storms pretty bad, and they just didn't want to war with America anymore over Texas, etc.
Maybe the people who used to live on the coasts have all come up here, now, and they're just staying where they've always been.

This is the area where their industry centers are....JOBS. This is where the seat of Government is. This is where goods are transported to. this is where their best hospitals are. There is alot of tourism in the area. The land is livable...no jungle..or large Mountain ranges.

it's the most fertile area and has the mildest climate.
the north is scorching hot desert, the south is extremely hot and humid.
