Local papers and newsagent windows are worth a try. However, there are no guarantees and the batteries may be naff. It is not easy to tell from inspection about the batteries. If they are naff, take them out and use the mains only. If it is your only computer, it is best to buy a new one from PC World or Dell.

Just look in the weekly ads - you should be able to find one once a month for $400-$500.

Dell have stock which are box damaged or slightly scuffed cases. The specs are amazing and they are stupidly cheap!!
