It is very windy here at the moment - in fact I've just been blown over!

What does the wind actually do? Has it any uses?

The wind is air moving from areas of higher pressure to areas pf lower pressure. Air pressure has a good bit to do with temperature, so the wind is how the air equalizes both its temperature and pressure.

I don't know.
When I was a kid I thought that trees made the wind by waving their branches around. So maybe it's to give the trees some exercise?
