This may sound like a stupid answer, but it's not...By making it different and not copy it totally...Always keep the body,but change the clothing!...Yeah!...that's it!

put on some chrome wheels and some new rubber, fix the rust, Coat it with candy apple blue lacquer over metallic siver base coat and about 15 coats of hand buffed clear over top. add some vicious modern horsepower and a 6 disc cd changer with about 8 speakers and a subwoofer - classic lines with modern design - drive carefully.

I couldn't... they usually become kitschy when they are reloaded... different experience of the present, etc.
