Find the postiion vector a of a point on the line described by the equation that follows, and also find a vector b parrallel to the line


(x + 1) / 3 = (y + 4) / -3 = z / 2

I answered this same question for someone else.

Been a long time since I did these, but I think, based on the webpage below, that the position vector would be given by:

r = a + tb
= -1i - 4j + 0k + t(3i - 3j + 2k)
= (-1 + 3t)i + (-4 - 3t)j + 2tk

A parallel vector to the line would be any multiple of b, (3i - 3j + 2k). So maybe (6i - 6j + 4k).
