I am moving to Minneapolis soon and will be working in Woodbury. I am single and hence do not really want to live in a suburb. I was wondering how is it living in St. Paul or Minneapolis downtown. St. Paul would be much closer to work but if Minneapolis downtown living is much better then I would not mind the commute. Please help. Thanks.

Honestly I wouldn't live downtown.
The city is nicknamed "Murderapolis" for a reason, plus your housing will be much more expensive downtown. I'd probably choose a suburb or a nearby city of Woodbury...because Minneapolis to Woodbury is about 45 minutes with no traffic.

Check out Oakdale. It's right by Woodbury.

Wow, Downtown Minneapolis is not that bad. If the nickname of Murderapolis exists, it is because of North Minneapolis, not downtown.

Given that, downtown isn't good enough to live there if you need to go to Woodbury. It isn't a 45 minute drive without traffic but it's a good 25-30 minutes. Live cheaper and use the extra money for cabs to woodbury.

I never have lived in downtown Minneapolis, yet I quite have lived in uptown Minneapolis. undecided if that helps yet I cherished that folk have been constantly out and approximately on motorcycles and that i felt a feeling of community. I cherished that it become artsy and inventive. I cherished that i ought to stroll to maximum places and that i popular felt risk-free. I cherished that i become close to to each thing considering that i become top interior the middle of the city. And the human beings are popular fairly advantageous. There are additionally a great form of issues to do being so close to to aim field, the objective middle, & different forms of entertainment venues. I quite have considering that moved to St. Paul via fact it become nearer to artwork and such, yet i think of downtown Minneapolis could be advantageous with the gentle rail line- it may actual save on gas- and the different line would be finished in 2014 which will make it great uncomplicated to return and forth to St. Paul.
