Can anywone tell us a web site where we can lookup an IP address range and see who has reserved it or has ownership?

This is a site I use, it takes everything from where it can find it:

whois.com, dnsstuff.com, etc....

But be aware that you are unlikely to get details of an individual - so you can't use this to find your ex-husband, etc...

What you'll get is the registered contact information, which may well be a department in, say, AOL... in other words, the service provider, not the home address.

Unless, of course, the owner has their own full-time connection with a fixed IP address, and are the registered owner of that IP number

You can do a whois search on the start and end IP. It will tell you some info, might give you what you are looking for. Depends on if the registration is listed.

http://www.samspade.org can give you a bunch of info on both IP addresses and domain names.

EG: enter the IP 230,1,1,22 and get the result of who owns it etc
