What's the name of the film where people go missing by sinking into quick-sand on the beach?

Question

A lot of people either die or go missing because they step on this sand and sink into it.

On the start of many of the scenes to cause tension sand on a beach starts to subside. A small creator is created probably about 1-2 feet wide, 1 foot deep. Next some poor sod nearby steps on it unknowingly and starts sinking.

I remember the victims struggling but unable to get free from it and get sucked in completely. I think this movie is late 70s or 80s.

Please don't answer Tremors or Tremors 2, 3 etc.

Yes it might be Blood Beach, from the looks of the cover from IMDB.com. Any other suggestions?

I also saw it when I was young so don't remember much. All the films I ask about are the ones that truamatised me!

Ok.... So I was probably around 5 at the time I seen this I reckon, so I'm not sure if I even knew the name of it.. It's not Blood Beach is it??

I rememeber it cause my cousin had come to stay, and she was a little older than me, I was REALLY scared, and she was like, well I'm not, I've seen Die Hard! Lol, so it was on telly around then

The Story
Chasing a dog across a Santa Monica, Ca. beach one night, an old woman is suddenly pulled into the sand by some unseen force. An investigation ensues, spearheaded by her daughter Katherine and the gruff Sergeant Royko. The old woman's dog is the next victim of the unseen monster, followed by a young woman buried in the sand. A mass dig uncovers nothing, although somebody gets the idea to explore an abandoned pavilion bordering the offending beach. In the meantime more killings occur and a would-be rapist gets his dong bitten off and sucked under the sand. The monster is finally discovered hiding in the pavilion, revealing itself as a long stalk topped by a flower-like protuberance with sharp teeth. Sergeant Royko kills it by blowing the whole place up, but the next day it seems that the critter has birthed a number of offspring...which appear to be popping up all over the crowded beach.

i also watched a movie like this when i was younger and it scared the living crap out of me lol, the one i watched was called blood beach, and it was some sort of big monster thing that lived under the sand, and sucked people under and ate them, i have never looked at a beach in the same way since, i am truly scared for life lol.....
