I've noticed that people who like Tim Burton films are generally thought of as odd by regular folks who don't appreciate his movies.
I like most of what he does because he has a different approach, expression and perspective.
Corpse Bride was delightful in my opinion because it was cute...I loved all the subtleties in it and the mood of "live world" opposed to the "dead world". (Notice the colour palettes of the 2 worlds?)
The Victorian restraint vs. the let it all hang out of the 'under ground realm'.
Not sure if I could watch it over and over again like Nightmare before Christmas but I did enjoy it.
I'm used to being called 'weird' or 'odd'... "so what!" it's a little more interesting than being just ordinary, unless you're okay with that then that's cool, to each his own without hurting anyone is what I say.
(smile)
If you don't want people thinking you are odd than just say that you appreciate the work that went into the making of the film.

I enjoyed it. It's a beautiful love story, touching, hilarious, fun to watch, full of creativity and imagination, and the animation was amazingly well done. I was a little dissapointed it wasn't as good as Nightmare Before Christmas but Tim Burton still rocks.

It was an average film I would say!! It is a film I would suggest to someone to see, but it is not a movie that I personally could watch over and over again!! I think if people are big Tim Burton fans they will definately like it.

I think it's a lot better than the nightmare before christmas. I especially liked all the piano songs they are very impressive, im now trying to learn them! Yes i thought it was definitely a better than average film and a good plot to match. I also saw the making of the film before i watched it (by chance) and so it really made me appreciate it a lot more.

Great film with a fine screenplay by Mr. John August, who also brought us the delightful BIG FISH and GO.
I notice there's a lot of comparison between CORPSE BRIDE and THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, but I don't really think it's fair. CORPSE BRIDE registers with me as a film for older audiences, and the tone's vastly different.

Eh, it was okay. Nightmare before Christmas was MUCH MUCH better! The fact that Johnny Depp voiced Victor was the only reason I finished it. Helena B. Carter massacred it *but then she does that in every movie she's in*

Nightmare before christmas was wayyy better. the soundtrack was better and the animation was better. Corpse Bride was way too gloomy for my taste and the story line was a bit predictable and boring.
