Certainly pianofan! Write to all the music stores in a 10 mile radius asking for contributions to a fund raiser or a gift of a piano. Say that it is a tax write off (donations ARE!) and that you will advertise their store in the weekly bulletin, weekly and possibly do a press release (it's free!). Try it and I know it will work! The Holy Spirit told me to tell ya so!

You could buy a piano for the church. You could start a Buy-a-Piano drive at your church. You could also approach local piano/music stores and ask for a donation. Churches are non-profits and run on donations. Oh, yeah, you can also pray ( no joke intended).

have a bake sale, not in the church though, infront of local grocery stores, ect.
our church has these alot and raises lots of money. sometimes, you can go to a piano store and ask them to donate a used one for their tax write-off, some-one with teh church's tax id # needs to do this. or have some of the church people to have a Church garage sale, once again..not at the church.
goodluck & GOD BLESS you for trying for your Church, God sees where you heart is on this and He will Bless you & your church.

the only thing you could really do other than a fund raiser is keep your eyes out for a really good deal, or maybe someone from the church can offer a good deal on a piano they no longer require?

Check out the Freecycle website for your area, you may be surprised that there are very generous people out there that just want to get rid of something that is very valuable to someone else but really doesn't mean anything to them anymore.

if you're in the UK you could try posting your request on www.freecycle.org: I quite often see pianos offered on there. (everything is free on there)
