In the book, The Bronze Bow, what exactly was/is the Bronze Bow?

Daniel made a bow out of bronze as a brooch. He gave it to Thace as a gift. It is also a quote(I can't remember from what), "And he will made me strong enough to bend a bow of bronze". They also used it as a password.

Probably a double pun. Set during the Bronze age and bronze bow is used. Like reading about a child growing up with all his problems and he tries to kill the guy who killed his parents with a bronze knife and then the bronze knife is used as the title. Makes a little sense if no sense.
