Try and find some pleasure in it. Unless it is a tornado there is very little chance that you will be hurt as the result of a storm. I find them exciting, the fury of nature at its wildest. You have no control over it so see if you can find the beauty in it. They really are something to behold.

Take deep breaths and try to stay calm. Count the seconds between the lightning flashes and the thunder. The longer it takes between the two, the further away the storm is.
