There are many faces to the fringe, Ruth, I just put it in terms of stereotypes because I figured the politics board could use a laugh what with all of the trench warfare that goes on around here.
Yeah, the Islamic fundamentalists are scary, however they are a minority within their faith just as much as the Christian fundamentalists. Those two groups have more in common with each other than either would like to admit.

As far as Islamic and Christian fudamentalists, go I was just saying that they agree with more than they disagree with. They both hate gays, they both despise divorce and often are against women working outside of the home, they both are against abortion, and sometimes even other forms of birth control, they both believe that their book is the direct word of God, they both believe that greater society outside of their clique is immoral and will burn in hell, you get the idea. Like it or not, radical Muslims are conservatives.

I might take issue with your definitions. I think you are seriously underestimating the radical left.
And I think you are completely mistaken about who is the radical right.
But as far as who is scarier? The radical Islamics. Any day of the week.
And your view that Christian fundmentalists are anything like the radical Islamics, is what is destroying this country. IMO, comparing the vast majority of decent, peaceful Christians to the situation in the Middle East is choosing to put your head in the sand.

Liberalism is ok when it is practiced.
But todays America's liberals, are not real liberals.
They are against change of all types and devoid of new idea's or solutions to problems.
Conservatives offered many new programs and initiatives the last 6 years, and liberals always fought against them, with never an original idea or solution to offer in return.
In reality the liberals of today are Stalinists and Marxists. Their belief that government is the solution to all problems and no wealth show be privately owned is what drives todays liberals.
They are also anti-American. They believe America is the worlds problem and the world would be better off without America in it.
Liberals are all for forsaking the poor weak and downtrodden if America's military is involved in keeping them alive, but insist on keeping America's poor weak and downtrodden in their miserable existance because of 'political correctness', (New Orleans and any urban city).
Liberals are way more scary.

Research states that those high off of marijuana are less agressive, or anyway less harmful. And hippies are against violence anyway, so the latter scare me. Especially when they blow themselves up in abortion clinics.
