When my sister said to me that family is the most important thing and then treats me and mom like we have the plague.

Well, it was at my aunt's bedside as she was dying. It was my favourite aunt and all the family were gathered round the bed in total silence for at least an hour. I suppose it was the whole strain of the situation (and I'm not proud), but somebody got the holy water out and started to pass it round and I don't know why but I so badly struggled not to laugh hysterically. As the holy water came nearer and nearer to me (and it was nothing to do with the holy water), the pressure was immense.

I suddenly got up found my way through the hospital curtains and stifling my laughter ran to the end of the ward (followed by my sister), we both ran downstairs and found a darkened empty ward and sat on the floor in total hysterics. It was all just too much I suppose.

A few minutes later we composed ourselves and headed back, my aunt had died. OMG and we'd been laughing when it had happened!

I think that was the hardest I'd ever had to fight to stay silent.

when i was i a kid in hospital and it was after lights out but we were all telling jokes and generally making a noise then the night sister burst into the ward and i dived under the covers but couldn't stop myself from laughing - she pulled the covers back and slapped me right across the legs - ouch! i still remember that one - that would have been a good time to have remained silent

I cannot remember. But, usually it is worth it to stay silent when in doubt. Keep your mouth shut. You can always go back and say something later but it is almost impossible to put the words back in your mouth after they come out.

When I wanted to shout back at my ex-boss, who I really hated. But I left that job now anyway.

Aw, and in bed as well, it's really hard to stay silent sometimes :)lol

Every time I hear or read something that is so ridiculously absurd that it makes me embarrassed for the speaker.
