Not me. If I were a pitcher I'd walk him every time he came to the plate, even if the bases were full. Or, like you said plunk him every time - maybe they could hit him in the bad knee and keep him from playing. A-w-w-w, poor Barry. The thought of his breaking Hank Aaron's record makes me sick.

I have never seen a player create such a negative vibe of this magnitude in my entire life.
At this point he can't possibly enjoy the moment even if he was fortunate enough to break the record. What good is a record if the most important element is not enjoying it with you? The fans.

No one does. And I forgot the pitchers name, but he threw at Bonds when Bonds was one shy or tied with Ruth.

Only the myopic fans in San Francisco want Bonds to beat the record. Let's see...Hank Aaron was a quiet and unassuming man from Alabama who worked his *** off to become the all-time home run king. He was bombarded with racist hate mail because some narrow-minded simpletons couldn't fathom a black man breaking Babe Ruth's mark. Flash forward 33 years, and we have Barry Bonds, who admitted in sworn Grand Jury testimony that he used performance-enhancing drugs in 2001 (check out "Game Of Shadows"). He was already a Hall Of Famer before all of the abuse. He has been accused of testing positive for amphetamines. He treats people like garbage. Yet, there are people out there who want this man to represent an all-time mark achieved by Hank Aaron? Aaron went through hell and back, death threats, racial slurs, and so much anguish just to beat that mark. If Bonds were a man instead of a lying coward, he would simply walk away like Mark McGwire.

I personally would like to see Barry just go away for good, especially if it turns out that he did in fact used steriods. I am a SF Giants fans (and Oakland A's), and will continue to be. I think that Barry has been aloof and snobbish with the media in general. I hope that he does not break Hank Aaron's HR record, maybe with any luck, he may reinjure his knee and retire.

I hope he does. he has had a remarkable career and just because people hate him, doesn't change the fact of what he has accomplished. You can hate him or love him, but Barry Bonds is America. He is everything that this country stands for. And it's an eye opening experiance of how the world views us, just as we view Barry.

I don't think anyone wants to see that happen, except for some Giants fans of course.

Barry has been around a long time, its a shame that steroids is such a big issue here.steroids or not doesn't take away from this major accomplishment hes about to achieve.I still believe hes gonna retire if and when he ties the record.

I will tell you one thing that would change my opinion of Bonds and that is if he gets to within 1 HR of Aaron and then quits. This erases the egotism he has and it makes people forget a little bit about the steroid issue. It would help to sway some writers in 5 years.
