Well, I have this friend (who's a girl) that I used to talk to and do what friends do. Recently though, we were walking home from the bus and she just asked me "Are you gay?" out of the blue. I didn't know what to say, so I kind of confided. Ever since, she doesn't really talk to me much... What should I do?

Alby lol that's my name to, sorry getting back to the subject, there could only be two reason why she hasn't been speaking to you.
1.) She my have had a crush on you seeing that you guys have been great friends for a long time and friendships usually have the tendency of doing so. Which if that was the case, can you really blame her???
2.) She just maybe coming to terms with the whole best friend gay thing, give her time like less then a week if by that time she doesn't want to speak with you, then she wasn't that great of a friend that you thought she was....regardless if your gay or not she should be there for you, seeing that it wasn't easy coming clean with the whole gay thing......and she shouldn't treat you like this just because your gay..I would understand if you had fought with her or something but to stop talking to someone because your gay isn't right!!!
Good luck Alby.....e-mail back with the out come OK! I like to follow up...

Thank her for revealing to you what kind of friend she is. Surround your self with people that really care about you. Your friend may come back to you some day. She might need time to think things over. But now have it be on your terms. Let this be a lesson for you. Homophobia does exist. Young gays often get kicked out of their homes by their parents just for being born the way they are born. I suggest reading up on gay issues and volunteering for some gay charitable events.

Sounds to me like the situation bothers her. If she can't except it then she really wasn't your friend. A friend should be there regardless if you are gay or not. I would try and talk to her first, and find out if this is really the problem. It could also be that this is new to her and she needs to really figure out how to handle it. I would not let this bother you so much, as you will probably encounter this many times in your life being gay, because the world is still not ready to openly except gays. Sorry, hope this helps.

Yeah ... forgetaboutit !! She was all cool and stuff before "the question" and now she is distant? Sounds like to me she is rather hurt that you are gay. I think she may have had deeper feelings for you and now her bubble has been popped. It's possible she will get over this in time, but for now, let it be. Don't stir the pot, she may get all "high-and-mighty" and possibly out you before you can say "I love Judy Garland" Give it some time and if she doesn't come around .... well ... ya win some and ya lose some. Good luck to ya bro.

I hate to tell you but if she can't except you for who you are she never was a friend in the first place.
you may however ask her what the deal is

I bet it's not that she doesnt like you, just the opposite. She could have ,had a little crush on you and when you said you were gay. it destroyed any possible romance... Go talk to her. Let her know how important her friendship is. If she doesnt want to be your friend then you will know..

sounds like she is telling you that she is not interested in having any kind of deeper relationship. I would guess she probably does not know how to handle it and is kinda confused. An open conversatin with her may be the best thing as you have kinda spilled the beans to her anyway.

Well, give it a few days. Sometimes things like that can be a bit of a shock. If she doesn't come around, you haven't lost anything because she wasn't a friend in the first place.

If she isn't talking to you because you're kinda gay, maybe she's the sorta friend you can kinda do without.

It sounds like she is more confused than you are, just tell her about who you really are, and if she is a real friend, she will accept you, and you guys will continue to have a good friendly relationship.
