This is what I used to give my baby at 7 months and you decide whether it is suitable for your baby.
1. baby muesli (no salt, no sugar) or baby rice. You can add warm (previously boiled) water or your milk not the cows (it is not advisable to give cow's milk till 12 months).
2. One hour later or earlier you could give mushed egg yolk. Boil eggs for 15 min to kill the bacteria, then take the yolk out and mush it with a little bit of boiled water. You could also try to add some plain yogurt as vitamin D in eggs goes well with Calcium in yogurt. Try it and see whether your baby likes it but add just a little bit to make the yolk soft, edible for the baby.
3. Then later about one to two hours later you can try mushed potatoes. Cook potatoes and drain the water out, live just a little bit so it would not be too thick and mush it. Take for the beginning one spoon of mushed potatoes and one or half a tea spoon of yogurt (plain and full fat as babies have to eat full fat yogurts till they are three years old). You could try Onken Biopot or M & S Greek style yogurt full fat. Whatever you have in Kenya.
4. For lunch you could cook a chicken. Buy a chicken (if possible organic because it will not contain growth hormones). One chicken will be very enough for one week. Take one breast fillet and one tight put it in the pan. Add some, about 1 litre of good water, sliced carrots (1/2 of a big one), 1/2 of medium onion (or try spring onion), 1 medium size tomato, 1/2 of red or yellow paprika, chopped, plus some spices: 1 bay, 1/2 of tea spoon or less turmeric, very little of nutmeg, a little bit of cumin and coriander, dill seeds and 1 clove of mince garlic. Add one drop of olive oil (for the vitamins to dissolve in oil). Cook it for about one hour. Then when it is cooked, take the breast fillet out and a bit of the vegetables (carrots, paprika, a few onions) and blend it in a blender (I use Beaba Babycook which is excellent http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detail.php?productid=ST09105&branch=&category= the price of the product is different in many shops). It should have very fine peaces, like mushed potatoes. Also take some cooked sauce and pour into the jar. You can keep this stuff for about two days in the fridge. The rest you can use for yourself: add more water into the pan and some salt and some rice (just an example) and cook it.
How to you feed the baby with chicken: take 1 or 2 tsp of chicken, add about 3 or 4 tbs of chicken sauce and heat it very well. Then you could add some fine oats or polenta. My baby likes oats with chicken. Or you could mix it with the mushed potatoes. I do not add butter to the potatoes because of the chicken and yogurt which contain fat.
4. Try also salmon if you can. You could grill the fat bits and then when it is cooked scoop the softest parts and give it to your baby to try.
Sometimes babies like to try the food from your fingers (of course washed with the soap).
5. During the day you could give her or him mushed banana (ripe), mushed avocado, mushed mango, steamed diced apples and pears or carrots. Blueberries are fine and black berries. Be near your baby when she/he has a food. Feed the baby yourself, as it can take a lot itself, especially with berries.

Sorry it is too long but hope you will find this information useful.
Good luck!

Breastmilk or formula.

At 7 mos, he is probably just now ready to be starting solids. Bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes are the best first solid foods. Offer one new food at a time with at least 5 days between new foods.

Breastmilk or formula should continue to make up most of his diet for the rest of the first year, with the solids slowly introduced to supplement it.

The diet should include not only milk but also some carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals. You could include some amounts of sugars too...but no alcohol please....

consult your pediatrician if you want it according to the specific requirements for ur child.....it would depend on his/her weight and health.

Well eggs and toast , or eggs and pancakes for breakfast.
and juice

or fruit and waffles or some variation of this.

next
lunch

sandwich of meat and cheese, on wheat bread.
or I usually give something fun like chicken nuggets, or fish sticks
or pasta with meat balls.

cut it all up into pieces

and make a regular dinner with salad and vegetables and meat for dinner,

and give him some of that.

fruits, grains, meats, vegetables,and dairy

as for dairy i usually give my children a snack like crackers, or cheese cookies or fruit in between each meal, but i always give a bottle or cup of milk for strong bones and teeth atleast 2 x per day. and the other times is water or REAL fruit juice.

email me if you'd like more ideas.
