You were asked to make the equation work, not make it into an inequality. So 5+5+5 does not equal 550 is not the answer.

have to agree with all the previous answers. straight line on first plus sign turns it into '4' or line through equals symbol makes it correct.

You could put a slash through the = sign indicating "not equal to"
