During the boxing Day tsunami of 2004, Banda Aceh was one of the worst hit areas.
Doing and image search with yahoo for "aceh tsunami" will come back with heaps. (including before and after satellite photos)
Also the Australian ship HMAS KANIMBLA helped during this period to clean up the aftermath some images of this are at:
