Once I make a decision to do something, I never go back on it. (unless circumstances beyond my control prevent me from doing it - Eg - being hit by a bus - but even then, I'd still try to keep my promise)

I have a rule (especially where my Step-son is concerned : If I might not be able to do something, I say "maybe" you / we can. If I have said "Yes" to something already, barring death or disablement, I keep my word. Your word is all you have! My family and friends all know by now that if I say "maybe" I will REALLY try, but if I say "I WILL", I DO! I have NEVER let my son or family down yet! (Promise)

Good Question! I only keep my word, to ones that I value, themselves. I'm guilty of not standing up? But it's also a signal that I ain't wantin' them around my Life, at all. it may be wrong. But it chases the "Leaches' away.
