It is known that the courts and police favour mothers over fathers.

Even under the situation where the police are called for a domestic disturbance, if the mother tries to leave with the children and the father tries to stop it, the father will be charged... But if the father tries to leave with the children and the mother tries to stop it, the father will be found and then charged.

Damned if you do and Damned if you don't. The father always seems to get the short stick and has to fall an the perverbial sword.

Why is that?

I guess it would be the same reason as why men get paid higher wages for doing the same work as women.... They have to give some balance.
Too be quite frank... it isn't how you explained it all the time. There are many cases where the father has the children, or the mother has been the agressor towards the father and has been the one to go to jail.

This is not always the case. If it were why does my daughter live with her father even though she does not want to and is often times frightened of him?
He harassed me by phone and threatened in person in front of several witnesses before our divorce was even filed.
He shoved me around on more than one occasion.
He threw a half full fish tank at his second wife(although he told the cops that SHE did it and shes only 5'2" MAYBE 100 pounds!)
He dragged his second wife's teenage daughter down the hallway because she refused to work in his junk yard.
(or these second two I had a temporary order of protection for her but the judge decided her father had hit his wife and stepdaughter but not actually OUR daughter so she was in no danger?)
She has had to have surgery on her ankle for pin placement after a severe break because he makes her, since 8 years old, drive his utility vehicle to do HIS chores. Then made her be back on it before her cast was even off to bury their dog that he refused to.
(I called CPS on this one and even THEY said was not enough to file a complaint?)
She has not been to a dentist, physician or an optometrist in well over a year(I know this because I carry her health insurance and get the claims statements if it's used and not because he volunteers any information about her health or well-being)
I had to take her to the doctors for an infection several MONTHS after I told him she had it and needed seen.
He never cooks for her. When she asked him when he was going to fix dinner once, she was told when its a special ocassion.
When we had our original divorce hearing even his mother said he could not take care of her!

I am 0% for mothers' rights
I am 0% for fathers' rights
I AM 100% CHILDRENS' RIGHTS

I know every sitution does not end up like this one is anymore than every situation ends up liek the ones you describe. I just think we need to ALL, POLICE AND JUDGES INCLUDED!, need to pay much much more attention to the children and what is best for them!

For us I have finally gotten another hearing for January 19. This time we do not see the same judge who fell for his ploys, we see a magistrate. So I'm hoping this one has eyes and ears.

Yes, I understand your question very well and have seen it happen to a close friend losing a custody case of his girls because he could not prove the girls "knew of theirs mothers behavior" and her actions were done outside the actual home.....she was a druggie, went to juke joints (bars down south), etc..but she retained custody....the older child ended up dying of suicide.
I am for the children, as a grandparent, if my daughter was abusive to their children I would be willing to go to court against them for I am 100% for a child to grow up in a stable home.

unfortunately our society is one-sided and "assumes" that the woman is always right although anyone who's been married long enough knows that's a crock a sh i t....having said that, we need to be the smarter ones and try everything possible not to fall into this type of situation.

Because men have historically been more physically aggressive. They are also physically larger, and capable of doing more damage.
Men have coerced women more than women have coerced men.

Dont like it?

Time for us guys to stop using brute strength to get things done. Because it backfires!
