It depends on what body type you have. With a fuller bust, you could be an hourglass, a round (apple), or an inverted triangle (cone.)

If your hips and shoulders are about the same width, and you have a definite waistline, then you are an hourglass. Smile, you have a dream figure- most women spend their time trying to get that balanced curves you were blessed with. Look for styles that accentuate your curves, without drawing attention to either your top or bottom, which will make your proportions look uneven. Look for things that cinch at the waist, to help you avoid looking boxy. Wrap dresses are great for you, as are belted styles. It should be fitted and tailored, neither too tight or too loose, so you don't add unwanted pounds. Waistlines should hit at the natural waist, and the overall shape of the dress should flow with your curves.

If your torso is about even from shoulders to upper hips, with no defined waist, on shapely legs, then you are a round. Your legs are your best asset, so show them off with above the knee dresses. Create a more slender waist with a higher waistline, like an empire. Look for V-necks to narrow your torso. Avoid belts and waistlines that hit at your natural waist, or lower. Look for tailored skirts with princess seaming to show off your legs, and even out your curves. Avoid fuller skirts, and skirts with no shape.

If your shoulders are broader, and you have a narrow waist and narrow hips, then you are an inverted triangle. Look for high set sleeves to slenderize shoulders. Flared skirts or lower waistlines can help balance your torso. Avoid cap sleeves, and other small sleeves, that add width to your shoulders.

With a fuller bust, there are some things to avoid, no matter what your body type.
1. Shoulder pads that add bulk to your upper body.
2. Wide lapels that draw the eye out, adding width to your upper body.
3. Breast pockets, or other detailing around the bustline.
4. Square, boat, and portriat necklines.
5. The straps on a halter or sleeveless dress need to be wider; narrow straps only make you look bigger in comparison.

And always, always, always, make sure that the dress fits properly- so try everything on before you buy it. Nothing adds pounds as bad as poor fitting clothing.

Empire waist dresses from Nordstrom BP especially by brands like As U Wish and Velvet Torch. I'm 5"5 and I weigh about 160 and I got this black cotton dress from As U Wish and it was the most flattering thing ever.

Wear a dress that comes right below the knee.

you sound like you are my build, a strapless dress that comes to just below the knee, is a good length. you could get a pretty chunky belt and some great shoes to complete the look. have fun lol...

try not to wear dresses that do not have any cloth above the breast level...the dress should not be tight, and most important:if it has different colours and patterns,e.g.stripes, those will have to be vertical, never horizontal
