Whenever i try wearing one of those strechy headbands [ones used for workouts and etc] my hair gets clumped up in the back and makes my hair look and feel bumpy back there...sticking out like a sore thumb. I think it may have to do with the fact that my head might not be the best shape for headband use...but iono. is there any way to prevent that? I tried twisting the band, making it small, but every time there was that bump again. any advice besides "don't wear a headband" as i like them and have own a ton? please and thank you!

Try putting your hair into a ponytail first and then putting on the headband. Once the headband is in place you can take out the pony tail.

Hope this will work for you!

Here you go ladies :) :
1st. Why? : a "around the head" headband, especially if tight, pushes up against your hair roots causing your hair to jump up. you can mimic this by pushing the roots up with your fingers. See?
2nd. The Fix: I taught this to myself and now i am teaching it to you! instead of putting your hair up in a ponytail then taking it down on top of the headband(you can see that will not work bc it will be able to puch those roots up even more) do the opposite. pick up all your hair in a pony tail, and then take your very thin bottom layer of hair and leave it down. Then place headband on top of that hair NOT UNDER IT that way it is ontop of roots keeping them down rather than under and pushing them up. Then release all your hair and put headband in to place.
3. wala bumps are gone! if it didn t work for you try again! because it does work! I hope you enjoyed :) like this and bump it to the top so people can c it too!

Isn't that the oddest thing .. me too, I've never figured it out and I'm over 30 ... went to the hard U shape bands .. but sometimes they give me a headache with the "pinching in the sides" but I've always loved headbands and have a nice collection my self. You just have to deal with pulling them down or taking em on and off often. Hate the bump ... hope you find an answer ... I'll be waiting

Oh howdy, I wore those headbands interior the 60's, my ears could poke out with the aid of my hair until I diminished the band in basic terms over the tops of my ears. That look is decrease back? What do you recognize.
