Just look for an opportunity to discuss any of your official matter. And at the end of the discussion, just put a word, 'sir/mam, I would like to talk to you in person and need an appointment'.

This itself will give him a clue that u hv some surprise in your bag.

Sure, he would call you any time before the day ends, till then keep your heels cool.

Ok, when u were called in, settle yourself first firmly and with a bit of serious face, no smile please, give him the background why you looked for an other job and why you cannot continue further over here.

Make him understand that u have nothing against him or against the organization. Observe patience and dont burn your bridges.

Right a letter and sit down in their office and answer any questions they have. Show respect and affection for your boss so they know it is not them.

Then leave and you will not have burnt any bridges.

Say that while this job was a good opportunity, it is not fitting in with your future plans. DO NOT burn your bridges. If he/she gets angry, just say "I'm sorry you feel that way".

Be sure to give plenty of notice.

If you find it hard to say it to his face, you could always write him a note explaining, and let him come and talk to you about it. Writing stuff down helps me loads.
