I took a career planning course as a first year student at the Darden School of Business, and found it to be extremely helpful in shaping my career. There is a version of the course that is also offered to alumni of UVA (if you happen to be one). You can view a program for the course at: http://www.darden.virginia.edu/acs/careertransitions/. There is also a version of the course offered at the Schulich School of Business, and I believe it is available to non-alumni.

Also, if you cannot attend the course (or do not wish to spend $1,500), you can access all of the assessments and tools for the course online at http://www.careernextstep.com for $125.

Good luck.
