Wenger was quoted in the papers as saying that he felt it was unfair to hold him back because Arsenal have so many older and more experienced strikers who will always be selected before him even in reserve games.

Quite simple really. He's behind Henry, Van Persie, Walcott, Baptista, Adebayor, and Aliadiere. Then there's another striker on loan Arturo Lupoli at Derby who is another sensation. Didn't stand much chance of a game did he? I used to watch him a couple of years ago in the reserves quite regularly, and I didn't actually think he was going to be premiership quality, so he's done the right thing.
