Send your condolences and tell him how sad you are... Just send what you feel inside...

I lost my son a year ago and the best condolence message I received simply states: I am sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.

Tell him you are sorry for his loss. Tell him if he needs to talk about his brother you will be there to listen. Find out where and when the funeral is and be there to support your friend.

Just tell him that you're sorry to hear the news or maybe you can tell him you're there for him if he need your help..
