The answer is simple unless you lie and say that Scottish Football is in excellent health and that the Scottish Leagues are of a great standard, the petty people give you a negative mark.

Wise up!! Scottish Football is a laughing stock, and now without your saviour I doubt very much you will qualify.

Also there is absolutely no way that any League that boasts Barry Ferguson and Shaun Maloney as 2 of its' best players would be a showcase in anybody's book!!

To LARSSON IS 0017: Alas it is you who is blinkered by the bright lights. I have been to Park Head numerous times and do follow Celtic as my second team, I have been to well over 500 Liverpool games, and probably over 100 Chester City games. Also I've been to see several International games not involving British sides, I am a true football lover (obviously you are not)

I can say that hand on heart neither Celtic or Rangers are in the top 10 biggest clubs in Europe, probably not even top 20, because their following outside of Glasgow, Ireland and re-patriated Glaswegians, is not that great.

Long gone are the days when Scottish football can allure some of Europe's finest.

As for the EPL going into decline, this is merely a petty backlash, with new investment coming from messrs Abramovich, Magnusson, Lerner, The Maktoum family et al the EPL looks to have the foundations of a brilliant League in the future much to the hatred of our Scottish neighbours.

Also how many European trophies have Scottish sides won?

Not as many as English sides - even prior to the inclusion of more teams into the Champions League.

Scottish Football peaked in 1967 with the Lisbon Lions.

To attempt to insinuate that English Football peaked in 1966 is absurd.

On an International persective, yes they did, England are the parochial underachievers in the International arena.

I don't particularly follow the English national side, just ask any true Liverpool fan who goes to the match, they simply prefer to see Liverpool players perform well at international level.

But let's look at what British sides have done since 1966.

English sides have won the European Cup (Champions League) no fewer than 10 times, the Uefa Cup 10 times and the Uefa Cup Winners Cup 8 times.

Maybe Ally McCoist and Barry Ferguson should have been in my worst ever 11 to play in Englands top flight as they had no impact when they played in this country

I concur that Scots have played an important role in English Football, look at the success of George Graham, Kenny Dalglish, Bob Paisley, Bill Shankly, Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby.

But what you seem to forget is where they chose to ply their trade. Why manage in England? Simple because they wanted to test themselves by managing at a higher level!!

Because a lot of people are jealous that the EPL is the best in the world.

WOW I HAVE JUST GONE BACK TO THIS QUESTION. WHAT A DEBATE. LUVIT! 10 EUROPEAN CUPS TO ENGLISH SIDES & 1 EUROPEAN CUP TO SCOTTISH SIDES. 9 OF THOSE EUROPEAN CUPS HAVE COME SINCE 1977 WHILE A SCOTTISH TEAM HAS NOT WON THE EUROPEAN CUP SINCE 1967. HMN, I WONDER WHICH COUNTRY HAS BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL IN EUROPE.....

Because, I'm sure you would agree, there is no positive football news that comes out of Scotland.

The National team's ranking is terrible.

There are no good players that come out of Scotland and crosses over the border. Where are the good old days, when Scotland produced star players? Why don't some of the kids playing on the streets of Glasgow ever go on to better things?

The clubs are never going to win anything in the Champions league.

In England, clubs in all leagues can get a result against the big boys. WHU beat Man Utd and Arsenal this season. Wycombe got a draw with Chelsea. Unlike up North, where there is only one team, how boring is that?

What is the long list of superstars in Scotland that would excite English teams? See.

Do the Scots not have a go and laugh at the English teams then?

maybe its your answers that are the problem not scottish football.
why not slate northern irelands league or wales, or is because a scottish team was the first to lift the european cup, or the fact that against all odds they still have 2 representitives in euro competition. if mourinho's porto hadn't cheated celtic out of the uefa cup they could boast that too. you obviously dont know what you are talking about.
why do you pay your money to go and watch football or are you an armchair fan ?
do yourself a favour go and watch an SPL match you will be entertained.
tell me this as you seem to be well travelled bar man utd tell me any club that has a bar dedicated to it anywhere in the world .the answer celtic and rangers so that fact is wrong. aberdeen have also won euro silverware. i remember the days when a small country like scotland qualified for everything, but the mighty england peaked in 196? something refresh my memory.
and for your info i'm not scottish i follow alloa but acording to the english thats not allowed. i constantly get told if i'm not from salford i cant support united. i am the honest open minded football fan. who has no bias other than to an entertaining game which i used to play.

TOSSED OUT OF 2 CUPS IN 3 DAYS BY TEENAGERS.

The problem is we never put money into young Scottish talent because we were too busy buying foreign players.

Never mind with all the english players going to the lower leagues and clubs getting into debt, the EPL wil be like that in 7-9 years too.

Leave Scottish football alone. We have good league considering Scotland has less people than London in it.
Rangers and Celtic have a very high following from all around the world. We just dont have the financial backing (like sky tv etc) that english teams do.

the scotish league is one of the worst in the world i think.
so boring, you can tell whos goin to win the league straight away, celtic or on a real good year it will be rangers *YAWN*
i remember before when they wanted a shot at the english leagues.........they would have no chance, they would be lucky to make it in the top half of the championship, never mind the premiership.

yeah the english league is sooo unpredictable right.
its either Chelsea or Man Utd .
so your league is great ,not.
at least in Spain or Italy you have 6-7 teams who can win their league,.
