Maybe she was in a situation where she couldn't protect you. A bloke that done that to you may have been doing worse things to her, I really can't say! I guess only you can really decide whether you want to forgive her or not. As you put it, I would find it rather difficult to forgive for what happened and I wouldn't be doing a thing about any form of reconcilliation, but that's me! But maybe you need to find out why she put you last first!

Lousiana you have to forgive your mum. I believe we need to give a second chance to other people. Forgive her but don't put yourself into the relationship 100%. Keep some distance.

Forgiveness is a great thing. First of all you will feel better. Besides God forgives us for all our sins more than once. Imagine if he wouldn't give us a second or third or forth chance.

Yes, forgive, but NEVER forget. Just because you forgive someone for what they've done does not mean you have to continue to have them in your life. You can forgive someone and let them go and you can go find another person to be with.

yes forgive her because by holding it in you are only hurting yourself and i know this from experience.your relationship will never be the same as though nothing happened and it should not as that is not the way of life, hate to say it but maby she loved you enough to get you out of the abuse even though she stayed in it.most women who were abused as children grow up and go in to an abusive as they can not break the cycle.my mother knew what was happening to me and CHOSE to let it continue I forgave her as an adult as it was causing me more pain than anyone else and took care of the last year and a half as she died a painful death from cancer.forgivness helps YOU

Think about these very strong quotes:

"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. "

"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you."

Try to forgive, it would make you a happier person. Good luck.

Forgiving her would be probably the hardest thing...but necessary for your own happiness. You may never forget, but hopefully you can get past the trouble.

yes. Forgive her and keep doing that till she understands your love. Being a mother it would not take long for her to understand you. After all its your mother - remember there are lots of people without mother.

Always forgive; never forget. And find someone to talk to about it.
