it takes practise, be patient and it will become simple quite soon.
i hold the lashes up with the pointing finger of one hand and then sweep the (freshly washed) pointing finger of the other hand over the iris and the lens pops out and i grap it quicky with a pinching motion using the sweeping finger and thumb.

What worked for me was.... (with clean, lint free hands)
Hold open the upper eyelid with the left (hand's) index finger while looking at your eye in the mirror... find the edge of the contact, (the outer circle.)
Gently, with the right hand's thumb and index finger with your palm towards your face go to the bottom of the contact ("6 o'clock position) try to 'grab' the contact ( the 5 and 7 position on a clock let's say) and pinch it to create an air spot under the contact to remove it easily. (Even if there isn't an air spot, you could pull the contact downward and off your eye... the contact may fold... try not to pinch too hard or you may rip the contact... immediately put it in saline solution or your cleaner to open it and hydrate it)
Hope you find this helpful.
My first time removing them took me about 20 minutes... I was practically squeezing my whole eyeball! ... I was really young and uninformed.
Good luck, hope you don't hurt yourself.

In addition to all of these suggestions... (pulling them down then plucking the out, using two index fingers, etc.) if it isn't a matter of actually gripping them but rather that they don't seem to want to come out, use a few lubricating eye drops first so that the lenses are moist and not sticking to your eye first. It will help them come out easier if they are more lubricated first, then try your technique of choice for removing them from your eye. This is especially useful if you accidently fall asleep with them in and then want to take them out.

I "pinch" them out with two fingers, some people "slide" them down, and then pick them out. But really, it is all about practice, and what feels comfortable for you. Everyone has a tough time taking contacts off the first few weeks. Later you'll do it while driving if needed with no problems :o)

It depends on the lenses, If you have hard lenses you need to pull the corner of your eye out and then blink hard. If you have soft lenses take your two pointing fingers and place them on the lense and push them together pinching the lense. It takes a while to get used to but ul soon become an expert! I can do it in the pitch black or completely drunk now!
