Topic suggestions for a college research paper?

Ok, I have a research paper due in 9 weeks for my Communications class in college. [I'm trying to get a jump on it because I am almost 8 months prenant and towards the end of my class... thus, I'd like to get my paper written and out of the way.]
I am able to choose my own topic for this assignment, however, I want to make sure I choose something UNIQUE (no death penalty or anything that is overly written about like that) and captivating. Thus, I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on what you would be most interested in reading about. Any and all topic suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated. Since your user name is legalstudent, I'll suggest something in the area of law.

Many schools have added a requirement for graduation, that students perform xx hours of community service. Some see that as forced servitude, some see it as exposing students to some of the needs of society and others see a need for help and view students as an untapped resource for helping.

Discuss and contrast the various reasons and the Constitutional impacts.

Contrast, Comparison. Diet vs Diet. No one can agree. Pick a diet and tear it apart. Build it up. Pick a second diet and argue that moderation and exercise is the only way to be healthy. It scored for me. Just pick a topic that people care about.
