From Fenchurch Street catch Circle Line eastbound (from Tower Hill) - or Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan westbound from Liverpool Street. Get off at Baker Street, walk one block westwards to Gloucester Place and catch a 274 bus going north. Alternatively get of the train at Great Portland Steet and walk northwards through Regents Park (less than a mile) Regents Park station on Bakerloo is currently closed (and is very close to Great Portland St anyway).

Bus : 274,C2
Underground: Camden Town (1km walk)
Situated north of the centre of London, the best way for most visitors to reach the Zoo by public transport is the 274 bus which runs from Marble Arch (terminus) and Baker Street Underground Stations.
An alternative is to walk across Regents Park from Baker Street, a journey of about 15-20 minutes

Camden Town, on the Northern Line, from where it's a short walk along the Regent's Canal towpath (or a bus ride) to the Zoo.
Best bet is to take the train from Southend to either Liverpool Street or Fenchurch Street.
If you come into Liverpool Street, take the Central (red) Line one stop *WESTBOUND* to Bank, and change there for the Northern (black) Line *NORTHBOUND* to Camden Town.
If you come into Fenchurch Street, leave by the Crosswall exit (via the stairs in the middle of the platforms) and take the short walk to Tower Hill. From there, take the Circle (yellow) or District (green) Line one stop *WESTBOUND* to Monument, and change there for the Northern (black) Line *NORTHBOUND* to Camden Town.

Camden Town is actually the closest tube station to the Zoo its self. It is on the northern Line, and on my map it says that Regent's Park Tube Station is closed for rebuilding.

Either:
Southend Victoria to Liverpool Street, then Central Line, then Bakerloo line to Regent's Park
Or:
Southend Central/East to Fenchurch Street, then Circle Line to Baker Street (or Cicle to Embankment, Bakerloo to Regents Park).
The Fenchurch Street line is quicker, but the tube part is quicker from Liverpool Street!
