Which is better: To be alone OR to be with people and be lonely?? Please share your stories and tell me why you believe what you do.

Proverb;
Society instructs.
Solitude inspires.
In order to feel lonely one must have someone to long for.
Being alone builds its own character and independance from the collective mindset of groups.
A prison inmate longs for his family and at night he sleeps alone.
He is released and the culture shock makes him feel out of place.
He is with his family but he feels alone.
He longs for his prison cell, he feels lonely.
15yrs later he is diagnosed Bi-polar.
Solitude is the processing environment best suited to the mind

I would give myself some moment of alone which I do almost every night before I go to sleep and that's perfect for me. I don't see any reason why I have to be lonely when I'm with people. Yes, sometimes I do feel lonely when I'm in the crowd don't knowing anyone around me but that's make sense because I don't know anyone. I used to do things alone all the time and now I look back I just feel what a weird person I was and how foolish I was since I didn't get the chance to get along with friends and family.

alone and lonely are 2 different things
i was alone for almost 8 yrs after i left my ex of 20 yrs but i was never lonely
lonely is mental you just have to look at it a different way
and yes it is very true you can be surrounded by ppl and still feel very lonely.
just change your mind set

Good question......I can only take being alone for so long before I have yo seek out other people to take my mind off myself, my problems....Being with other people tends to put things in a new perpesctive....for a while......,Then I need solitude again, to try and make some decisions I need to make........does this make sense?

it is always better to have someone to share ones life with, opposed to being alone. because when life is about to end, and one looks back as they always do, they realize they missed out being by their selves. they may look back and see their life had no real purpose.
