Nature and wildlife have formed an integral part of the Indian consciousness. Animals are a critical part of India's myths, legend and religious belief. The best way to explore and experience the majestic Himalayan foothills is undoubtedly on foot or on elephant. This stretch features fascinating deciduous forests and the Savannah vegetation of tall grassy meadows and marshes, across gushing streams and mountain villages. The avifauna here is wide - ranging and varied and so are the inhabitants of these great forests. The accompanying Jeep and the tended camps give you the flexibility to choose your transportation mode. An odyssey in itself, this simple yet intense experience combines an undisturbed sojourn in picture-postcard countryside.

Elephant Safari
Riding an elephant will surely make you feel like a maharajah of the erstwhile era, when the luxurys of owning and riding a majestic pachyderm were available only to kings. Elephant safari is an ideal way to venture into the beaten tracks of a jungle and explore the areas where it becomes difficult even for jeeps to travel. Moreover, elephants being a part of the animal kingdom can move closer to animals without scaring them away.

Giant creatures are available at most of the national parks and sanctuaries in India, that would take you into the jungle and help explore its hidden secrets. Elephant safaris are generally of 1 or 2 hours duration during which time you would get opportunities to get up close with the wild denizens and photograph striped predators from a close range.
