I don't want to divorce - I am terrified of public speaking. I wish I could divorce but I can't stand the thought of the court process. Meanwhile my husband is taking advantage of this and has left the country and is providing us with no support at all. I was a stay-at-home mother. I am planning to wait until the children are 18 and divorce then, I think it would be easier. But is there any way I can get my husband to pay anything to help the family? The children and I are living in the house we used to share, he wanted to sell it but the agent told me he needs my signature - so for the moment we still have a roof over our heads. What can I do? I am so scared of going to court that divorce is out of the question.

in the first place, your hubby should be supporting your children. your local child support agency is a good place to look for help with that.

i think you have watched too much tv. divorce is not an exercise in public speaking. it is pretty much the judge and the lawyers in court. do not stay "married for the kids and do not feel shy in court. go for that. good luck

If you don't divorce, you can't get child support nor alimony for yourself.
Don't sell the house. You own 50% of it. If you sell your house, you'll end up living on the street.
Get a family law attorney.
