I like my job of 5 years, but every morning, there's a lazy side of me that wants to stay in my warm bed, not get ready for work at 5 in the morning, not scrape ice off my car while shivering in the cold, and not fight the bumper-to-bumper traffic since buses don't go to where I work.

Actually, no. I'm retired now, but even when I was working, it was never like that. For one thing, I've never had a driver's license and never driven a car. So it's trudge to the bus stop in all weather I remember, which was not always fun. But I never wanted to simply stay in bed, because I know Steve would simply have pestered me out or called me in sick. And I had a reputation to maintain.

Besides, I really did like my job for sixteen years, until I was laid off something over a year ago. Retirement means trying to figure out how to make money without having to trudge to the bus stop in all kinds of weather.

Yeah, but just try going to bed earlier so you won't feel so tired. Plus, if you get up even earlier, you might leave earlier and beat the traffic. That's one of the worst things. As for the ice on your windshield...ah, summer will happen again soon.

Yes, I think everyone goes through this! If given a choice, we'd all stay home in our warm bed. Maybe you can just take a personal day today?
