is being taller better?

do they look better than short people? in the US/West it seems tallness is preferred.

Well, whether one is tall or not depends on many factors. For example, a man that would be considered a tall Filipino (hence, a desirable man for Filipino women), could still be seen as short among Northern Europeans.

Women below 5' can get some problems because of their size. Usually, men like short women, but if she's too short then maybe not. Taller women are certainly fashionable now, but I suspect women over 6' tall still have trouble finding boyfriends.

For men, anything below 5' 6" is not good for dating. If you go below 5' 2", the situation is desperate.

Standards among Blacks and Whites in the USA are for taller people. Remember: most of humanity is small, only Nordic Europeans and West Africans grow huge as a rule. But those two groups constitute the majority of people in the USA.

tall men are generally viewed as more attractive by women, we cant help it (something to do with evolutionary conditioning)
even all of us girls saying it doesnt matter tests done (in a short of speed dating style) shows that height is a surprisingly important factor even though the women dont realise it.

(though ofcourse charm and confidence etc are needed too)

If I were taller I don't have to modify my brand new pants by the tailors, but other than that I love being little shorter than others.

For guys, yes, to a certain height level anyway. Or else you become a freak giraffe.

For girls, I'd say 5'7" or 5'8" is sublime.

It's a shame I'm only 5'5" (female).
