Hi guys! Since it's January and many of us have exams, I wanted to ask you how do you motivte yourselves to study and how do you achieve your targets. Also any methods for remembering information quickly and effectively? And being able to learn a lot in a day, whithout messing up everything.

Because the whole morning I have been online rather than bothering about my A' level Mechanics tomorrow.

You've answered your own question...surely you can see that. Get off-line, open a book and read. There are no short cuts.
With remembering information, I keep a notebook by my side when reading, and jot down important ideas and information. Seems that just writing it down is enough to commit it to memory - but the notebook is also helpful for last minute revision.
Really - have you to discipline yourself. Planning, time and effort is the only thing that will help. Set short term goals - for instance, 'before I eat lunch I will finish this chapter' - and stick to them. Put off all else - the long ignored but suddenly urgent housework etc can wait. If, perhaps, something is subconsciously making you resist getting on with your work (example - fear of failure) just ignore it...get to work and that demon will soon be ousted.
Now that you've read my suggestions - SWITCH OFF YOUR COMPUTER!!
Good luck.

Write down as much as possible that you absolutely HAVE to know - just the act of writing it all down is one way to remember some of it.

Once that's done, condence it down to as small a number of words as possible - this may take several attempts as you shorten each section. Try to get it down to one side of A4, and take this sheet of paper everywhere with you until you know it off by heart.

Once you get into the exam, take ten minutes to write out your page in full - this then forms the basis of all your knowledge and you should use this to help you develop any answers more fully.

This really won't work for an exam tomorrow, but would work if started two or three days in advance. Word of warning though - it isn't a long term memory thing, just a means to an end of remembering enough to pass an exam.
