I mean, i just went into the sports bit and there are all these americans talking about wrestling, i'm sure it's not just americans and i don't mean to stereotype but i just don't get it. do they know it's not real? Can they not tell by the 'home and away' style acting? Please someone tell me, i must understand.

its damn popular thats for sure! They could easilly sell out any arena almost anywere in the world. We all know its storyline based, also its very dangerous, they get some terrible injuries, and they are real skilled athletes. Its like anything I suppose, its just what entertains you. One thing with wrestling, its usually not boring, they know how to entertain that's for sure. and they earn mega money! Like I say, its just what your into, its just for entertainment purposes, like when you watch a film. I enjoy it, I appreciate what they do to entertain. I went to Monday night Raw at Manchester not long ago, and it was a great night, not necessarily because of the wrestling, its the crowd, the music, the pyrotechnics etc. Its a great show to watch live.
I can understand why people slate it, but I also know why people love it.

First off, Wrestling is not fake,,,, it's planned!
The reason why wrestling is so popular and almost addictive is that it is "Nothing but a Male Soap Opera"! That's it. It is as appealing to men as "Days of Our Lives" is to women. Think about it. It has both the heroes and the villains, and after awhile, the heroes become the villains. The characters will be friends with one guy and then they will stab them in the back. And just like soap opera's, a person can be killed or banished, and a year later they are back as someone else.
So as you can see, but probably don't want to, wrestling is just a soap opera for men. If you quit watching for awhile, don't worry. You can catch up with everything you missed in the first 15 minutes.

neither is superman
or solid snake
or B.A baracus
or John McClane
their all fictional characters created and played by people in television movies games etc
Same applies to wrestlers-yes we know its fake just like the fightscenes in the Matrix-two paid actors throwing punches a foot away from each others faces attached to cables hopping around the place firing blank bullets while fake bullet explosions go off in front of a fake blue screen background.Except wrestlers have the guts to do it live.
yes we do know its fake like everything else but we just sit back and enjoy-like theatre.
the home and away trash talk is to build up the anticipation of the fight-pornstars cant act either but i dont see you complaining about that!!!!

People know how Hamlet ends and that he's not a real Danish prince, but they enjoy the play anyways. Wrestling is no different.

I don't know, I agree - it is really weird.
But then you see these morons screaming at a bloke in his Y fronts and I think it's best they are all in the arena watching this than being aloud to roam the streets.

1- cute guys
2- bloooooooooooooooooood
3- cute guys
4- blooooooooood
so i don't care if it's scripted

If you are taking about WWE, because it is fake and it is entertaining, the Olympic is real and it is for the work out ,well at least for me.
