1) Display of Wealth, we all respond to the colour of gold its Pretty.
2) Lack of Taste Nuff Said
3) Ready money. Can be pawned in hard times
4) Knuckleduster. They hurt if your hit with them

yeah i hate those things, them saddle rings and belt rings are horrible too.
i think its to make them selves look like theyve got some money or just to show them off to other people

if you are talking about chavs its because they hurt more when you thump people. the older generation seem to like them but they usually only wear one and that's just through personal choice
