I could not pass this question up, I am a former tattooist. Please understand that I am not being rude! I am being totally honest with you! If you have to ask a stranger to help you make up your mind, do you think that your even ready for a tattoo? I am saying that YOU are the one who will be wearing the tatt to begin with, not me, or any body here. That is a personal choice. Just like your tattoo, if someone else asked you to put a tattoo of dandelions and daisies you wouldn't do that would you? Look, I don't mean to come off this way but a tattoo is a permenant thing and my first tattoo is always my favorite (for my own reasons), but to those who take tattoos serious, they have PERSONAL meaning. If your getting one to fit in to a social statis then don't get one. They won't wash of with soap and water.

Between your shoulder blades or shoulder but definatley upper back on a man. Lower back Tats are for chicks.

on the mid lower back, on the front side of the lower abdominal. MAKE sure the design is what you want it to say many of the ones in the tattoo shop are Not what they say it is , and there are many ways to write the saying you want . do research.
