What are the compulsary computer courses for a communication professional?

Question

I would like to specialize in communication areas and would like to know what the commonly useed computer applications are. I only know MS-Publisher.

I meant a person who works with publications, web design...etc

Do you mean as in graphic design for print or for on-air graphics? Different professions within communications use different software programs, but most use a layout program (similar to publisher but with extensive controls) either Quark Xpress or Adobe InDesign, as well as Adobe Illustrator (an illustration program) and Adobe Photoshop (photo manipulation program). These are a good start. They are difficult to master, but will come in handy in any communication design job.
