i am by no means an expert on Beardies, but i do know a lot. By drop I'm guessing that you mean can their tails come off. in that case yes but no when they are startled. the tail is used as more of a last ditch effort to survive, and much the same way an iguana dose, if the tail is grabbed by a predator the tail will come of, allowing the bearded dragon to get away safely. the tail will grow back after some time.

if they are frightened they can lose 3/4 of their tails and some times other dragons will bite their tail ends of ,which will devalue the cost of the dragon ,if there isnt enough live food in the cadge the babies will attack each other ,they need to be occupied, they need lots of rocks and twigs and hiding places ,the best temperature is 85 degrees, through the day (not 62/65 as many people think )night time temp,10 degrees lower than night time temp,
do not give them iceberge letuce as its poisonus to them ,,,make sure you put plenty of calcium powder on their food to help them have a heathy bone stucture.,and it also helps to bring out their colours,
a minimum of a 60watt heat bulb ,is needed,,depending on the size of the tank you may need two of these,(ie ,6ft by 4ft,would need two bulbs)
the females do a mateing dance with their front two arms ,,,and you can tell the sex of a dragon ,better by the diamitor of their heads ,ie male is narrow female is wide ,at the nose .
they come from desert like enviroment ,,,well most of them ,try and keep the tank as natural as possible ,,,or have different textures in the tank like sand ,bark or gravel ,,,
if your female needs to lay eggs she will need a large plastic box ,filled 3/4 full of sand ,which needs to be kept moist till the eggs hatch , would put a lid on it to stop others form digging them up,these should start to hatch naturally in 90,to 110 days ,but in a incubator they take 40,to 60 days ,and a dragon can lay vevery 30 days ,a clutch between 8 and 27 eggs ,at a time ,
we like to hatch our eggs naturally as you tend to get better colours,
when you have eggs in the tank its best to keep the lights the same as what you normally do ,nothing really needs to be changed this way ,
people will try and tell you you need and incubator and all sorts of other stuff but we are living proff you need to do nothing except let nature take its course,we have already bread twice with no problems,
so have fun with these as they are great pets to keep and they can live up to 15 years old ,
i hope this has been of help to you ,,,all the best ,,kat.
