mirrors reflect light, if there is a little light you will have a reflection on the mirror. in total darkness you wont hava a reflection even if you use a night vision.

Depends on whether you're using passive or active goggles. If you're using passive you would still see some kind of relfection because they just amplify the very small amount of light that is still present. If you're using active goggles you would see a bright, blank surface. This is because active night vision goggles send out infrared light and produce an image from the light reflected back. The mirror would reflect all the infrared so you would just see a bright, green, rectangle (or whatever shape the mirror was).

Ok... mirrors reflect radiation. NOT ONLY visible, but also infrared radiation in general. Many mirrors also reflect UV or radio waves. The layer of silver or aluminium that is deposited on the back of a mirror will act almost the same in infrared (night vision goggles use infrared) and UV or radio. It is probable that X or Gamma rays will penetrate it though... So, looking at the mirror in the dark, while you wear eye goggles, you will probably see an infrared image of yourself wearing night goggles.

It will still act like a mirror. Night vision goggles pick up on light we cant see with our eyes but that will still reflect off a mirror.

night vision goggles only amplify light. besides all you would see would be the mirror the contrast of night vision goggles isn't very defined.

If you're using passive goggles it'll depend on whether there's enough light for the photo-multipliers to work. If you're using active ones, the infra-red is only just outside the visible range so any absorption by the glass would be minimal - you'd see yourself.

Even in the darkest places there is still some light.
It would have to be absolutely pitch black, with no light sources from anywhere, but you would not see anything except the shape of the mirror.

NVGs use infra red. Glass absorbs infra red, mirrors are made from glass therefore you will just see a bklack object in the shape of the mirror.
