Yes! Most prescrip. prenatals now contain it actually. So, just make sure yours doesn't already have it. It's actually recommended that you take an oil supplement while preggos. I tried a separate fish oil supplement, and it made sick! Hated and still hate the taste. Get a prescription from your Dr for a prenatal with DHA. Goes down easier.

Good luck!

YEAH! MY doctor told me to start taking it. It is suppose to be really good for increasing the intelligence of the baby and decreases premature labor. But, stay away from fish that is high in mercury, like tuna. Your better off just taking the supplements.

Yes, it's a good idea. However, make sure you buy a good quality, purified fish oil and avoid cod liver oil. This is because mercury levels can be high in all fish and very high in cod liver, and need to be purified out.

Some fish oil supplements contain fish oils from fish you should not eat during pregnancy. I would approve it w/ your doctor first.

I'm 34 weeks and taking a DHA supplement daily called Expecta. My OB-GYN approved of it.

Only what the doctor orders! Why pay the 'expert' if you aren't going to get the benefit and use the knowledge and experience? Get his or her opinion...Stop mixing your own 'elixirs' and stick with your doctor's recommended tried and true.

Unless of course your name is Rosemary!

Yeah they are relatively safe so long as you do not over-dose
