The mic usually goes in to the cpu with the pink colored plug in. Also you should check on your pc if the mic is turned off, because that can be a problem since windows by default turns it off. So just go to the vol. manager, you know where you go to adjust the vol. on the speakers, go there and you should see the mic. if you plug it in, and there will be a box that says mute, just uncheck it and you should be fine.

microphone should have a input jack on card or if it is built into the motherboard it should have an input marked on the jacks for the sound board weather it is built on motherboard or stand alone accessory. Open the sound controls up and insure the microphone is turned on with the volume up to a decent level

the microphone plugs into the CPU just like the speakers, there is usually a plug right next to the speaker plug, some CPU's have this on the front.
