Not at all - in fact Im sure you will love the chance to have a little break. I have known many people to take virtually newborns abroad - and although I would do this myself (due to heat abroad and discomfort flights can bring) - I can see no problem whatsoever with a trip to butlins. Good luck with the baby and enjoy your break.

My wife is expecting twins, due in April, we already have a four year old. We have talked about the possibility of taking holidays in the future, but have agreed that it would not be much of a holiday for any of us, at least for a couple of years. We will though be taking breaks in the UK and these will, hopefully, give my wife a chance to relax, as I will try to take over 'duties' for that time(If she allows me to!!!)
The most important person to discuss this with is you partner. We all need a break from time to time, but there is no point if you are both tense because of it. Maybe you could take a break with your or your partners folks, grandparents love all that and you have integral babysitters, we did the same last year in Cyprus and we alll had a good time, but this does depend on the relationship you have with them!
Good luck with the new arrival and I'm sure that whatever you decide will be the right thing for you and your family.

I have three children and moved from Coventry to Blackpool when my 3rd child was 2 weeks. If it was your first id probably say don't do it but you have experienced it all before so you should be fine. And as for the other answer you got gringopete, mothers who cant afford to take their whole family abroad go to butlins and it has some good things for kids. Good luck and just enjoy that new bundle I'm sure you would be fine to go away.

Only if you feel ready. Baby will be 2 months old and will probably really enjoy it and I'm sure by then you could do with a bit of a break. My youngest (I have 2) was only 6 weeks when we took them both to Devon for a few days. The drive was easy as she slept the whole way and she seemed to really enjoy herself!
If you feel ready then go. It'll do you the power of good. Have fun and good luck with the birth!!

I f you are organised it is not too soon.My son was 10 weeks old and I was breastfeeding, when we did a 1000km trip interstate.I also had a 4 year old and a 21 month old ,the younger one in nappies and bottles. With organisiation it was a great holiday, that we all enjoyed.Just take your time while travelling and be prepared to stop for your own comfort as well as bubs. when my eldest was 9 months old we did the same trip but I changed him from formula to cows milk before we went and only sterilised teats, jsut washed the bottles well, and that made it a lot easier.
relax and enjoy, its harder work but still fun.

I'm a military spouse and we move a lot and it always seems to be after I have my babies. I moved from Louisiana to New York when my 1st was only 2 weeks old (we drove) . I also moved from Germany to Hawaii (and lets not forget the 3 week pitstop in Ohio and drive to NY to visit family) when my last child was only 1 month. Everything went fine. So to answer you question...No, I don't think it'll be to soon...it's really up to you and how you feel. Hope this helps.

Only you will know if it is too soon after.

It is only to butlins, it's not as if your flying off to somewhere hot. Just make sure your prepared, as you already know baby's need so much stuff when you're going anywhere.

Congratulation adn good luck ;-)

I dont quite understand the question, to take the newborn away with you? or to be seperated from the newborne while you go on vacation?

Studies show that the first few months of a newborns life are the most important.. this is the time it needs to grow and adapt and develop a bond with its mother..

No go away enjoy yourself, your other children also need this break. I took my son to spain (via Aeroplane) at 12 weeks for 2weeks. It was great no one coming round and having a chance to relax, if you have a partner there should be no problem take it in turns and enjoy time with your other kids.
