Both are very good logic games. Play as much as you enjoy. If you are not skipping class or work, go on and play,

You say "addicted," but that may not be an appropriate term. If it is getting in the way of your significant other, work, and/or daily life is could be considered an "addiction." However, if you truly enjoy the games (and especially if you're good at them) you should hang onto them, for they are things that keep you happy during the course of your life.
I suggest limiting yourself to only a few hours a day of those activities. If you see yourself winning chess tournaments (and sudoku tournaments if they have them), then by all means try to win -- it will do a lot for your personal life. If not, keep them as a hobby and try to keep a balance on your time.

It's only an addiction if it has a negative impact on your life. If so, you're either avoiding real life for this quick fix or at least nothing in real life seems to provide any satisfaction. Take a positive stance. Don't run away from the games, move towards life. Deal positively with the problems in your life. Find other interests. Some physical activity would be good. Interact with people. If you continue w. chess, play with real people and set limits for yourself.
