Sadly, that is a seriously outdated name... I'm not sure when it was fashionable, but it was long before the 1960s I know that for sure.
Of course I'm not totally sold on Gangster Q and Captain Morgan as names either, so what do I know?

Yes that is an old name. I haven't heard it in years, and I never knew anyone named that personally. I think it started when someone wanted to name their daughter after a male named Edward.

my cousin is named edwina, and she is the only american i have heard of with that name. i grew up hearing it, so it seemed normal to me, but my friends laughed at it and thought it sounded ridiculous when they heard it.
