I guess XML and HTML are written in javascript...but then what difference is there between them.

html & xhtml is defined in XML which is a subarea of SGML.
HTML/XML are a page defintion languages known by browsers.
This is the method to describe the content.

Javascript is script language that is known by browsers.
It can be used to manipulate the content or the methods.
It is Netscape's implemetation of ECMAScript. Netscape was founded by some ppl that created the first real browser.
